Dr Rajeshwari Ganesh has been practicing Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics in Mumbai, since more than a decade. At all the centers she is attached to, her work involves performing a detailed developmental assessment extended medical evaluation, diagnosing various behavioral and developmental disorders, counseling patients regarding the various aspects of these conditions and directing them to the appropriate therapists, and then monitoring the progress made with these therapies.
As part of her assessment, she regularly administers developmental assessment tests at par with international standards. These tests include the Capute scales, Amiel Tison scales, PEP [Psycho Educational Test for Autism], Early start Denver Model Curriculum for Autism, CARS [Childhood Autism Rating Scales] and Neurodevelopmental Assessments like PEER, PEERAMID and PEEX2.
Dr Rajeshwai Ganesh is also one of the few professionals in India certified for using ADOS [Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule], considered the gold standard diagnostic assessment to diagnose autism. She has also certified to administer the BAYLEY SCALES, which is considered the gold standard in assessment of children with developmental disorders.
Her key areas of expertise include planning intervention services for children with autism involving parental empowerment and training and developmental assessment of preterm and high risk NICU infants.
She conducts a high risk neonates surveillance and monitoring program at Surya Hospital a Tertiary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Hospital in Mumbai. The program involves detailed assessments and referral to therapy programs as and when necessary. Parent empowerment and counseling forms an integral part of this program as well. It is one of the few developmental screening programs in Mumbai and holds great potential for early pick up and intervention in high risk cases.
She also regularly conducts workshops for teachers, parents and para clinical health professionals on issues related to child development.
